Unhappy Bathroom redo

I now own a 1987 Silverstreak. My son (previous owner) disassembled the bathroom to build a large closet in it's place for his girlfriend (now gone) Stupid, I know! I'm brand new at this...how do I go about returning it to a fully equipted trailer for the least cost? I really would appreciate all ideas! Thanks.

You might take a look at this site: http://www.tompatterson.com/Trailers/Trailers1.html

There should be some links there to connect you with people who know Silverstreaks.

In general, they appear to be a coach worth trying to save. Unfortunately, even compared to Airstreams they were made in very small numbers, so salvage pieces are going to be hard to find.

As far as making a custom bathroom, you are going to have to deal with some radiused walls. I believe though the walls are straight up and down and fore and aft until they meet the ceiling and at the rear. You should be able to reinstall a toilet, a sink, and even a shower/bath using available RV sources. A suitable waterproof wall covering for shower walls may not be all that easy.

Even though we don't speak Silverstreak here, there are many forum members who have overcome similar challenges, so feel free to ask.

Hi Peggy,

Do you have any pictures of your current bathroom (closet) you can post? Is any of the plumbing still intact? That might help us help you.

I'd begin by trying to find pictures of your same model of Silver Streak trailer, to see what the original bathroom looked like. This would give you clues as to where the original plumbing fixtures and tanks might have been.

Silver Streaks are similar in appearance to Airstreams, but different in structure. Still, the basic parts in an RV bathroom are the same from brand to brand and year-to-year, so you should be able to reconstruct this bathroom and have it working as good as new. The only drawback is that you might not be able to do it with parts that fit what it originally looked like.

Good luck!

I wonder

If Peggy still needs a bathroom, the post was from 2003!

I think this person needs the link so they researched silverstreak/bathroom and this thread was re-born. Ed
