'65 Safari Toilet Replacement
We have been renovating our 65 Safari. We are now reinstalling the fiberglass bathroom and a new toilet. The original 65 Safari toilet is not working and we were wondering if anyone has found a new toilet that will fit into the original fiberglass toilet frame?
I have attached a picture of the original fiberglass frame.
Thanks, Maurice

Hello St Pierre-
I am looking for a original fiberglass toilet frame for my 1966 Overlander, because the previous owner couldn't find the exact toilet that would fit in the original hole like yours and ruined the fiberglass frame because he made the hole too large !! Wish I could help but if you ever want to sell the frame just let me know.
Regards and Good Luck,
Bob

My understanding from someone that has done it, tells me the toilet can be rebuilt. It just takes time and many trips to home centers, auto parts, etc... places to get the stuff to make the gaskets, etc... to fix it.
Bob, I think there a bath setup for sale under the parts area.

65 Safari Replacement Toilet Found
We found a toilet to fit the original fiberglass enclosure. Thetford Aqua Magic 5 - Top Flush. The color matched the original fiberglass. We installed it this week with a new black tank. Looks like our next step is to paint and install the new floor.

Bob, I am going to gut the back of my 65 Safari and will throw out nothing as i know another streamer will want it.
I do have the peice you need BUT I live in Canada!
As often is the case however, somebody knows somebody else and a pick up and delivery often works out.
Keep in touch.

Hi! I need a new toilet for my 64 Tradewind. Can you tell me where you got the Thetford Aqua Magic 5 - Top Flush? I found THIS but I'm not sure if its the same, its called a hand flush not a top flush. Same difference?
Also, did you use the high profile or the low profile model?
My PO put some sort of janky replacement toilet in mine and it has never worked. I do still have the fiberglass frame intact, and as far as I can tell, the hole was not modified when the original toilet was taken out.

Tabasco . sorry but i haven't looked at the fourm for some time. If you have not installed your toilet , I used the high profile . I made a templet to cut the fiberglass out of 1/8 ply . If you need a paper copy let me know . Maurice

I bought the toilet, only to discover that it does not seem to fit. I'm replacing the black water tank, so I'll be able to line up the flange to the black water tank when I do that.
But, I also have a drain line from the sink that runs (almost) the width of the trailer and is just inside the fiberglass bench. Do you have this drain line too? If so, didnt it interfere with the base of the toilet? I dont see it in the pic above, so you either didnt have it, or perhaps you've modified it in some way.
Also, once we removed the old toilet, it was pretty obvious that the hole in the fiberglass had been modified but luckily not so much that we cant make it work.
If you've got a template, Id love to see it. Thanks!

Tabasco,
We did modifythe sink drain. We routed the sink drain forward to a gray tank that I installed at the rear of the axel.
I can take a picture of the template, or send you a paper copy. You can send me a private message with a mailing address if you want.
I hope this helps.
