Water pump strainer cup

Here’s a simple question ... is the strainer cup on the inlet or outlet side of the pump? Mine is on the backside of the pump and will require some finagling to access.

Inlet. Assuming it is correctly installed. I've learned to assume nothing, however. You should be able to tell by examining the plumbing in and out of the pump. Outlet side generally has some branches out in different directions pretty quickly.
