Water Pump isn't drawing water from the fresh water tank.

Greetings All,

We've got a '23 Globetrotter 30RB that doesn't seem to draw water from the fresh tank anymore. We're full-timers and stationary for the foreseeable future, so we have city water. We used to use the water pump and the fresh tank 24/7 to supplement the pressure coming in from the city. I stopped doing that a couple of months ago when I realized that my filtration system outside was significantly reducing the water pressure.

In the time since I've noticed that the pump doesn't seem to draw from the fresh tank. I can turn on and hear the pump, but the fresh tank stays at 100% and there's no change in the pressure at the tap.

Any thoughts?

A couple questions. Did you try the pump with city water off?
Have you checked the filter/strainer before the pump? There was just a thread where that came loose.

Turn off the city water, as Wazbro said. If you have good pressure, everything is good. If the city water pressure is higher than the pump output pressure, then no water will be pumped from your tank.

Much appreciated advice. I did try the pump without the mains on and voila! It works. Thanks. And now I know where the water pump is.

Again, thanks. I had not idea that the pump didn't function if the outside water pressure was higher. It turned out that it is and the pump is fine!
