Water Heater works but no hot water at sink

OK first day out this year and I may not be able to continue.

Last year I had circuit board replaced on my 2018 FC 25 rear bedroom. Second time for this repair. I am using the AS for the first time since that repair.

Now the water heater has heated the water just fine but no hot water is getting to any of the fixtures (kitchen sink, bath sink,shower).

I have checked the shut of under the kitchen sink and it is open.

Water does flow from the sinks but a very low flow that never gets hot.

Any ideas? I do not know of any other shut offs between the water heater and the sinks.

Any help suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the mixing valve on the water heater is stuck. You might try tapping on it but most likely it will have to be replaced.

They are readily available and relatively easy to replace.. I got a replacement from directly from JC within several days.

Sorry I didn’t mention the bypass valve

Yes I have checked the bypass valve and it is open. Even when I shut the by pass valve I get the same low flow cold water at the sinks and when I turn the bypass valve on there is no sound if water rushing into the tank which I would expect if I had drained off any of the water.

Is the mixing valve located just next to the bypass valve?

On my trailer there are three valves that make up the bypass system. There is an input valve for the cold water to the heater and a output valve for the hot water. There is also the bypass valve that allows water to go around the water heater.

Bypass mode
Input = closed
Output = closed
Bypass = open

Normal mode
Input = open
Output = open
Bypass = closed

I can’ Believe it it worked

Holy Cow! A Great Big Thanks to Hanz627. I tapped on the mixing valve ( more than a few times) and more water began to flow and it was also hot.

Looks like we are good to go.

You have saved an entire trip.

Thiatt55.....It sounds to me to be a problem with the water heater bypass valves being in the wrong position. I had a similar problem with the water not flowing from the bathroom sink and found that there was an accumulation of a calcium looking material blocking the strainer located where the water flows out of the faucet. Its hard to believe that would happen on the other fixtures, but thought you may want to consider it. Good luck, lets us know what you find is causing the problem.

Mixing valve

If tapping on the mixing valve solved your hot water supply issue, the problem was likely due to gunk inside the valve. There is a tiny screen inside of the tank inlet that can clog up. If the problem returns, consider soaking the assembly in vinegar for a few hours. Its worked for me.
