Water heater thermostat does not shut off gas to burner

Anyone ever had this problem? When I turn the thermostat all the way down there is no difference. Any suggestions would be great.

If "any" LPG control device does not do exactly what it's supposed to do, it should be replaced, without question.

Remember, LPG can explode, if not handled or controlled properly.
