water heater problem?

My 2016 Flying Cloud 20FB has a 6 gal. Atwood water heater. On our most recent trip it wouldn't run correctly on propane, but this is different than what I have read about in the forums.

When I flipped the "gas" switch I could hear clicking and ignition of the gas. It would burn (I could hear the roaring burner as usual), then shut off after about 30-40 minutes. I wasn't timing so this is an estimate. It would then cycle ignition on and off, burning for a couple seconds before turning off. It would do this 3 times before illuminating the "error" light next to the switch.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

This is the best diagnostic video regarding the Atwood water heater I have ever seen. The diagnostics is outstanding.

Pete,

If you go to the MyRVWorks website Darren has a lot of factory service and parts manuals. Download the water heater service manual, it has lots of info and diagnostic charts too.

Darren has a very good YT channel.

solution found

To complete the circle on this: Diagnostics couldn't find anything physically dysfunctional. The only thing left was the circuit board, so I replaced it and everything seems to work correctly now.
