Truma warmup times on-shore power vs. not

Bit of a strange behavior we are observing with our Truma AquaGo Comfort where when we are hooked up to shore power the Truma can take between 2-3 gallons of water run through it to actually get warm enough to start a shower, while when not hooked up it takes less than 1 gallon. Does anyone else experience this odd behavior?

Anything I might be able to debug to figure out why this is happening? I don’t believe the Truma has an electric water heating element, only propane, so I don’t think it’s that..

We have the Truma AquaGo "comfort" model in both our 2015 23D International Serenity and the 2014 31' Classic. Shore power has nothing to do with our model Truma water heaters. They take a little 12Vdc from the battery for the control circuitry and use only propane to heat the water.

There is a two way switch of "economical-off-regular" and the difference is how hot the holding tank (about 12 ounces) is maintained. The regular mode keeps the holding tank about 130 versus 100 degrees F. The amount of cold water is the length of pipe from the output port of the water heater to the shower or faucet.
