Tankless water heater won't heat above 86 (caravel 22fb)

First night after winter! the tankless water heater in our 2021 caravel 22 is not really working.

- gas is on, stove works fine
- power is on, fuse isn’t blown
- the 🔥 light is showing on the control panel, and control panel lights up and responds when hot water is requested via shower and sinks
- water pressure is ~60psi

it shows output of only 86deg. water heats up from 72 to 86 but it doesn’t go any higher… i have a tankless girard water heater

any ideas? scratching my head on this one…

Hot water not heating u

Just found this. Have the same Caravel (2021 22’). Did you ever get this figured out? We are having the same issue. Won’t heat higher than about 87-90. We have the flame symbol. Have tried running the pump at the same time, running the sink and the shower at the same time…still, won’t heat up to the set 120. Just filling up the gray tank trying to get this worked out. Sigh….

Thanks.

Could be this - The propane regulator at the tanks is acting up.

My symptoms - hot water output temp started decreasing from the set pt. All other gas devices were working. There even was flame on the hot water burners.

My fix - Open the tiny regulating screw on the propane regulator right at the tanks. Not sure why it needed adjustment after months of use but it worked.

Here are the background headaches - Control board? Control valve(s) on the water heater? (have to pull the water heater out to even touch these) Try a new propane regulator assy? (not easy to find and $$) Get it to the closest AS dealer (2021 Bambi less than a yr old)? No, more than 1 month wait to get into a dealer.

The factory regulator was acting up. I did take it to an airstream dealer who determined the LP supply was _not_ the issue as they were seeing the pressure they intended to see out of the front LP service port. After I had checked/replaced everything and cleared the lines, I replaced the regulator and it worked fine after that.
