Replacement advice for my water pump
11 years ago I replaced the OEM Flowjet water pump with a Shurflow variable speed 5900-211 Extreme pump. I really liked it, but recently it began leaking back and intermittently burp running. Typical check valve issue. However this pump uses a rather elaborate 10 valve valve assembly. I thought I would try cleaning it but upon disassembly I found the diaphragm drive assembly starting to crack and deteriorate. Repair parts are hard to find and the valve assembly plus the drive assembly together are over $100. Doesn't make a lot of sense for an 11 year old pump. This is apparently a "vintage" long out of production pump.
What is the latest and greatest variable speed pumps out there? Likes and dislikes? Noise level?
