obsolete 36800 water pump

I have been told that the Jabsco 36880-1000 is obsolete and the new number is 36950-2000.
1) The source is VERY reliable
2) I wish to know if anyone has observed that replacement AND
3) I see that StarMarineDepot has one for $204.95. Any comments on StarMarineDepot- good or bad.

I had Jabsco on my boat. Replaced it with a Surflo for about $90.00 and get two years out of it. Same with AS. Jabsco not worth the money, IMHO.

I have, however the threaded port hole on the base unit (female)where the pressure regulator meets the base unit(male) squirts water when pressure is applied. The male end is plastic and I am just not sure if the female is stripped so I'm opting for a new one. By the way the regulator is only a year old and i really hate to discard the whole unit but then why not at $204.95. The price on parts is almost half that.
