I pre-ordered one a month ago and just got notified by the vendor that introduction of this unit is delayed until after May 1st. That screws up the rebuilding schedule but I figure Atwood has a good rep to protect and I'd rather wait than have an untested piece of expensive equipment.

By ordering one of the first production models, you will still be getting a water heater that is relatively untested compared to ordering one in another year or so. Good luck though.
As an ASE/Volvo/VW certified I'm painfully aware of new model problems. I figured, though, that if Atwood hasn't figured out how to build a water heater yet then they're getting away with something. Plus, accordong to industry gossip, they are collaborating with PrecisionTemp on this. Anyway, what's the worry, it's just hot showers for the missus
I am the first to admit I am wrong when I am. My vendor is told next month, but believes it will be much longer. Shame, I had to cancel the order and go with the Precision Temp RV500. It really isn't a shame, I know those unit work very well, and it shipped out before Fred and I finished our conversation.
