Low H.Water flow & City Water Inlet / Backflow

Please tell me I'm not imagining things. Here is the scene:
1. Replaced the Mixing valve because it was showing all the usual signs of "gunk" in the screen. The screen was 1/2 full of calcium deposits.
2. This did not fix the low H.Water flow issue. Infact, the slow amt. of heated water would turn to cool. This is very typical for a bad mixing valve, with me?
3. Reaching for a 6 pack of beer I noticed fairly loud air/water gurgling sound from the City Water Inlet. That can't be related right?

4. Pulled the City Water Inlet. Hooked a garden hose to it and it would not open to allow flow into the camper...or in this case my garden
5. Disassemble the valve, clean the seals, reassemble and attach the garden hose. Water passes thru the Valve as it should.
5. Reinstall the City Water Inlet valve.
6. The bloody H.Water is working great.
7. Sit cross legged on my front lawn drinking and wondering why, just why?

Yes several theories.

Correct or acceptable brand of beer.

The answer is 2. Thatís an homage to Tom and Ray The Tappet Bros.

You found the missing ground wire for the mixing valve.

Your humble scribe is sitting by the campfire on a dreary has been damp day and is just a bit bored pre lamb chop dinner.

Iím clueless actually the best theory.

And now back to our regularly scheduled confusion.

If it stumps you G. than we are all doomed.

Kudos on the Tappet Bros. reference.

Was there debris on the city inlet?

Did you have an external pressure regulator attached to city water during any of this?

No I did not have any external regulator...straight from the house hose bib.

Was there any debris in the inlet? Maybe. The bugger would not allow water to pass thru prior to me disassembling and cleaning. It did allow a dribble of water, really nothing. After cleaning and reassemble water would pass thru it just fine and the dab-gum water heater flow was back to normal.

Somebody call a nurse.
