Hot water question

2022 Classic 30 RBQ. Initially unhappy with Alde hot water temp in shower. Saw a post about removing an orange plastic “thing” in the faucet and it worked like a charm. Apparently it kept the faucet from running straight hot water and forced in a little cold.

Now wondering if the galley sink has some type of similar “limiting” device. The shower temp is way hotter than the sink temp.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Have you just tried the mixing valve on the alde unit itself?

I investigated that when working on the shower….spoke with Truma tech support about it….only to find my version (if I’m looking at the correct item) is “fixed” and not adjustable? Seems they vary quite a bit unit to unit.

You can post pictures and see if we can help you locate it? I am certain they know what they are talking about but you never know.

Our mixing valve on our 3020 in our 2018 classic is right at the end of the bench seat. Remove that aisle way panel and it’s front and center. There is a black adjustment piece at the top. It’s been awhile since I looked at ours but I feel like we may have had to remove the bench seat to adjust it?

Is this the valve, the brass item in the middle of the pic? '22 Classic 33. With the red top?

Yes, that should be it. My top is black, I just checked mine and it’s labeled clockwise turn to lower the temperature and anti clockwise to increase the temperature of the water.

Micro adjustments should be done here since your anti scald is removed from your shower. You don’t want to increase heat for your kitchen only to find the shower unbearable

I like those ball valves! Guess they cheaped out by '22. Yours is a backfit, right? Your valves make it easy to attach labels.

Regarding the mixing valve- when I upgraded from the 3010 to the 3020 earlier this year on our 2017 Classic I learned that the “newer” Alde mixing valve does not have the range to adjust the mix like the old one. I had the JC tech keep the old one in the trailer.

Interesting. So the one in mine, with the red top, does not adjust? I have not explored that yet, as the glycol and water both get pretty hot, based on the Alde display. I believe I've seen 170F. I did adjust the shower valve.

I was lead to believe the new one was adjustable but only a very limited range, whereas the old was was adjustable from nearly 100% hot to 100% cold
