fresh water pump

Today a new issue with the 12v pump and and it would not work after a fill of the tank, drove some 300 miles and worked only sometimes. Checked fuse and ik. checked it tonight and it is working. Could a sensor be bad or air in the lines make the pump not work sometimes? I have lost faith in it for the first time?

Could be the pressure switch

It might be the pressure switch on the pump. Try by-passing the switch by turning the power off and connecting power straight to the pump and see if the pump works first time, every time when you turn the power on. If so, replace the switch.

1. no noise, not even a hum
2. hums, but no pump noise
3. pump noise, but no water pressure
4. noises never heard before and a green glow from the housing ***

or other options...

those who know will need more info to give ya good dope.

*** if the pump is run for long with an empty tank, it will heat up and a safety relay? shuts it down for awhile...

'28,

Unfortunately, Airstream does not use the finest quality when it comes to water pumps. Remove it from your trailer, connect a hose from a bucket of water to the inlet, add a 12VDC source and test the pump. If it doesn't work (which it probably won't), I would suggest a Shurflo Extreme Sensor 4.0 pump. 3 year warranty, excellent operation, smooth, quiet and more flow that the OEM model.
