Everpure filter replacement
Having gotten my 1971 Overlander this summer, I'm ready to set out on my maiden voyage. Everything works now, but I'm not real keen on using a 38 year old water filter. Anyone know where I can get a replacement filter? Or, can I just bypass the filter and get an inexpensive in-line filter from Camping World? We will not be using the fresh water tank at all.
Thanks!

You can find them on line or at any decent RV dealer. Our original set up filtered the holding tank as well as incoming fresh water to the galley sink. I split that off and added a water spigiot (original option) to the counter top. Now it filters only water that goes thru that spigot.
We use that water for drinking, cooking, coffee, etc. Helps extend the filter life by not running all the galley water thru it.

I don't know what your filter looks like but our type is shown in the attached link from Camping World. In our trailer the Everpure filter is under the sink and filters only a single water tap specifically used to fill glasses, the hot water pot, etc.
Everpure Replacement Cartridge - Item - Camping World
If we want to filter the water entering the trailer from the curb we use something similar to this:
Culligan RVF-10 Exterior Water Filter - Item - Camping World
Both types (and others) are available at many RV supply stores.

As a newish AS owner, Im preparing to do my first winterization. Im following the owner's manual as well as the threads here. My question is about the water filter. To the best of my knowledge I dont think that I have one. Are they standard on new Airstreams? If I have one, where would I find it?

The Everpure filter used in the early 70's was # 150.
It was located inside a stainless steel housing.

Andy or anybody, I too am in need of a replacment water filter. Mine is located under the sink in the lav. It appears to be made by FULFLO and shows a replacment cartridge number of RWC-5. (1989 Excella 32) Since Fulflo appears to be out of biz which replacment would you recommend? Thx
