Dometic GE9 EXT water heater not getting hot

A couple days ago after we got to camp and hooked up to city water our water pressure release valve was leaking. We turned off the water, opened up all the faucets then opened the valve and it stopped. We then realized are hot water was no longer working. With closer inspection, in the light of day, it appears that the wiring for that heater, in the same area, got wet. The plastic coating was wet inside so the wires got wet when the valve was leaking. We ordered and installed a new thermal cut off. We checked all the breakers and shut the main on and off a few times. When we turned on the propane switch for the water heater it fired up and ran for about 4 minutes then shut off, water was only warm. A few hours later the water heater fired up again but again only for a few minutes. This continued for the rest of the day. Water is just not getting hot. (BTW we camp every few weeks and have never had any hot water issues)We called the dealer they were no help and can't even look at it until October. We called Dometic and they wouldn't advise us due to liability concerns. We are quite handy and have fixed many issues watching youtube videos... We just need some advice on what could be causing this issue. We are thinking either the thermostat, not adjustable, or the control board? Thanks so much in advance!

Dinosaur Control Board

Sounds like the control board because of the intermittent service. Try the Dinosaur UIB64 #91346. I carry an extra with me in the parts bin.
