Converting pressurized water system to demand.. Is tank vent needed
I am planning to convert the pump in my '63 Globetrotter from pressure to demand. The galvanized tank appears good so I plan to use it if possible. To make this work it looks a if I need to vent the tank/system. Any suggestions as to where and how? Also any suggestions on pump brands/models that work well for my limited needs.
You can use just about any of the readily available demand RV water pumps, plumb it into the tank outlet, and use the existing pressure inlet for a vent. It might be a good idea to elevate the vent inlet a few more inches above the water level to avoid spillage while driving with a full tank. A piece of fine mesh screen will prevent debris from entering your fresh water supply.
