Chrome Canister "U-FIL" Water Filter

My 74 Excella has a chrome canister water filter/(purifier).
I still can't believe anyone believes that it purifies the water. But it probably filtered and thus cleaned the water to some degree.

Anyhow the actual filter inside the canister is blue in color, made of some form of poly-plastic and according to the Service Manual is replaced with something called a
U-Fil cartridge Part# 150. .

I have run Google and forum searches and found no mention of that cartridge.
I also need a square cut gasket for same Part# 344, but may be able to find that non-propritarily.

Is it still available or is there a substitute known?

When I needed to replace mine I purchased it from Andy at Inland RV as I was making one of a few large purchases from him. You might be able to find it more locally and save on shipping.

As an FYI, when I installed it I did not get flow thru the filter, it appeared to be plugged somehow. A friend of mine gave it a good puff and after cleaning the blown charcoal off his face it worked fine. I'm thinking this was a unique situation and not the norm.
