Question Best way to attach screen to heater gasket

Starshine is a 2023 23FBT International. I had previously put an SS mud dauber screen over the circular opening for the heater. After a post I went to open the flipper door top look at the rocker switch and was constrained by the special spring which was hooked thru. Removed that but I'd like to permanently attach the screen to the flexible "ring". Considering either E6000 or a 2 part epoxy as I don't want to penetrate thru the gasket. Your thoughts? What have you done?

How about a spring like original, except to a wire across the interior opening?

Fit issue

The outlet protrudes through the gasket so trying to use a simple solution like a wire won't work. The gasket is also a tight fit to the piping. But this is an interesting idea. Later this morning I'm going to print a big washer measuring ~5" OD and 4 1/2" ID and then try running some very thin wire from the mud dauber guard to it.

Version 1

This is a first pass. Workable - the wire is fine enough to allow the exhaust to still go thru the black gasket. I'll probably put a few dabs of E6000 to hold the ring in place.
