'69 Overlander Waterheater removal

We have stripped the entire interior, including bathroom, and the one thing I can't get out is the water heater. Can anyone please give me some help on how to get that sucker out?

Thanks,

Chuck

ahh, Chuck. it is a pain. you can search some of my posts, but essentially if it is the same as mine, there are 4 screws that hold the shroud on to the round part of the water heater. 4 on each side that is. That will loosen the schroud.

You will have to remove the vent on the outside, that vent stack blocks view of some additional screws. Best just to cut it off with a sawzal. Make sure the gas is unhooked and off. Cut the pipe that goes across that feeds the propane, and then pull out the pieces.

Finally the tank sits on a v shaped piece of metal that locks it to the floor. You may just want to make it easy by prying it up instead of trying to determine which way to slide it across the floor to free it.
