'08 Safari water heater only staying lit for 3 mins...

I have a 2008 safari 23 fb. When I turn on the water heater, it lights up and burns for approx 2 to 3 mins and then shuts off.

It will not stay on.

Any diagnostics you suggest?

My stove lights correctly so I know I have propane flowing and I refilled the propane tanks 2 weeks ago.

I just took the unit out of storage - busy summer!

I ran hot water in the faucet for 4 mins per instructions but no difference.


I tried to start it 5 to 6 times and it shut off each time.

Problem solved. I had the winterization water valves in winterization settings. I closed the b valve and opened the a and c valves and the water heater started working. It must have an auto shut off to protect it from user error!

So if you have this issue, check this before taking it in for service!
