The errant piping is on the back face of the tank. Oem pipes are intact on the side behind the tire.
I think the sheet metal enclosure has both tanks inside with gray exiting the back and black exiting the side. All that needs to be done to put it back to original is splice the small pipe back together.

Oh, I see! The gray elbow IS cut. I am so used to both tanks exiting on the left face of the enclosure. I gotta start looking at these things on a real screen, not my phone.

The question still is going to be: what did they mess up doing this mod? If they cracked the tank while fiddling around, that's going to be fun ( = expensive) to take care of. Like any other repair, you never really know the full scope until you're done with the entire fix.
