Waste Valve Pressure Cleaner
I'm in the process of replacing the seals in my black water system. I was not able to close the valve completely due to an accumulation of "stuff" in the blade track. This area is indicated in red majic marker on the valve body.Notice this is on the bottom of the valve where debris would settle. It appears that nothing has been touched in this area since constructed in 1986.
I built this flusher for routine flushing of the valves. Just hook it on to a garden hose and stick it up the drain pipe. Pretty inexpensive and all I needed to do was drill a hole in the 2" end cap.
If your valves are not able to be pushed in all the way you might build one of these before spending big bucks to have a repair shop tear into your pocketbook.

As I understand you, the flush water and the flushed stuff are then going to run out and on to the ground. Is that correct?
If so, I believe you would be better off attaching your flushing device to the inside of something like this, rather than the end of a hose.

Would you go in from the top down, or bottom up?

First of all, I would flush my tanks completely. maybe twice, oh hell disinfect them while you're at it, 5 gallons of bleach should do the trick.
I have a sewer solution which I believe is much better than the valterra product you indicate. I've seen some really poor flush jobs at dump site in my day. I would do this operation at a dump site. We are not trying to clean the whole waste system here, just the valve system of anything small that may be trapped.
I would have NO problem performing this task in my driveway.

most folks look at this thread and do not understand whats going on, unless they have had a "valve won't close all the way" condition. All we are trying to do is unlodge any thing that is in the sliding valve raceway.
The Sewer Solution and the above mentioned Valterra flushers do not clean out the raceway. Their point of greatest pressure is at the connection point and basically back fills the tanks. My device puts the pressure right on target. something the USMC taught me, lol
