Waste tank size on 63 Safari?

Hey everyone,

Does any one know the size of the waste tank on a 63 Safari?

Thanks,

Keith

I remember reading somewhere that it was about 6 gallons. I know the one I replaced in my 60 Safari was very small.

Guessing here, but if it is the same above the floor tank used in my 61 tradewind it is about 10 gallons, You can measure it by pouring a gallon of water at a time until it is obviously full

One week's holding capacity...

Hello 63Sfri (Keith),

Wow, that’s a good question.

I looked through the A/S web documentation right up to ’73 and this is what is mentioned:

- 30-45 gallon pressurized water tank (fresh water); and
- Septic tank, originally fiberglass and then changed to polyethylene, with approximately one week’s holding capacity.

You will just have to use the old tried and true method, as RickDavis mentioned, and measure by filling it with known amounts of water until full.

Good luck and please respond with your findings,
Chris

It's small, I had to venture a guess I'd say no more than 15 gallons, but probably smaller!
