waste gate cap install

I have seen a waste cap with a gate on it. Not sure where to buy it or what size. The waste cap I have is slightly larger than the hose fitting that came with the trailer. I have to shove the wrong end into the whole on my trailer to use it.

My black tank valve doesn't close all the way ( planning on getting in there soon and seeing if there is toilet paper stuck etc)

How hard is it to replace the waste cap with one that has a gate on it?

By the way the yellow stuff you see on the sides of the cap is something called "Plastic weld" that I get from Oreilly Auto Parts. (NOT plastic Epoxy) It is AWESOME for fixing anything plastic. I had dropped the cap and busted one of the clips. Fixed with plastic weld it is now much stronger than originally.

Are theteford and valterra the 2 different sizes? can I get something like this which will just twist on?

Yes, Thetford and Valterra are different sizes. I had to pick up a Valterra universal adaptor on ebay so I could use a standard RV drain hose for my black tank.

With the adaptor you should be able to use the valve that you've linked above.

The best solution would still be to repair the tank valve, IMHO.
