Smile Toilet in my 83 excella needs replacing

Can I purchase a new toliet that will fit the existing flange?

Yes, you should be able to. One suggestion, I don't know how old or tall you are, but I replaced the one in my 98 with the tall version and also added the 2 inch raiser to the bottom. makes getting on and off easier.
I am 70, 5'10 and had a hip replacement. Even my wife at 5'5 liked it better.

I suspect you can find a suitable toilet. Camping World and other RV sales/service dealers have plenty to choose from.

I don't think the flanges have changed much (if at all) over the years. Check www.thetford.com Thetford toilets were used in many Airstreams. Do a little digging on their web site and you'll find a cross reference list Find your original/current model and see what's currently available. Be sure to consider the space required behind the toilet and space required to flip open the cover and seat.

What model did you use? Did the water supply need to be changed. I sure dont want to change the flange

I used the Thetford Aqua Magic V and a Thetford toilet riser. The flange matched up.

With the rubber seal, it does take some downward force to get them seated.

The deep bowl on this model is nice also.
