Time for a new Black Tank Where to start?

Well the time has finally come for us to replace our original black tank on the 65 O'lander. Is has sprung a leak... My question is where to begin. I know we need to drop the belly pan. Should we take off the entire belly pan or just cut and replace a portion? Also I should mention we have an original and functioning Swirl O Matic that we would like to keep. How will a new tank bolt up? Will this cause issues as far as a flange is concerned? Also what parts are involved other than the tank and flange on toilet? Is there a possibility of the original tank not working with a new tank? Sorry for all of the questions but I am trying to convince the hubby that we can do this and don't need to take it somewhere.

Also where is the best and most cost effective place to purchase said new tank?

Thanks for any help.

Happy Holidays.

Your tank may need to be a special order.
IF...and I mean if you need to go that route, I may be able to assist you with a contact that will build the tank to spec. The turn around is 3 business5, bus days. Shipping is 50-70, however the tank will set you back- PM me if I can be of assistance.

Call Inland RV, they had a bunch of the early stuff reproduced if my memory serves me right. I know they had one for our 69 tradewind.
