Threaded waste valve...

After gutting the bathroom on our '73 Argosy26 and removing the black tank, I found that the dump valve is stuck and the housing around the 4 large screws that hold the 2 halves together is cracked. I want to replace the entire valve, but cannot seem to find one like what I have. The one I removed is a "typical" Thetford waste valve, but it threads into the bottom of the black tank. All of the replacements I have seen do not have the threaded connection. Suggestions and advice please? Thank you.

Hey, Me too!

This is my exact same dilema. I've searched posts for three hours and so far no solution. Anybody?

I believe if you look closely you will see that a threaded adaptor is glued to the Thetford waste valve. On my '74 Argosy there is a close nipple glued into the female side of the valve and the nipple is what goes into the tank fitting. A slip fitting with clamp in my case. I just bought a new waste valve, Thetford part #08669. I had to fabricate a duplicate of the plumbing assembly because everything including the valve was glued together.

You are exactly correct, at first I didn't realize this was two fittings glued together. I ended up replacing the dump valve, adaptors and collector with new valtera fittings from VTS.

My threaded piece was not glued to the valve, but attached with 4 screws (which will not come out). I ended up replacing everything with Valterra parts-valve, threaded adapter and new T below the valve. Much simpler and less expensive.
