Thetford PN 01447 Replacement

We have a 1969 GT with a leaky black tank valve. I have attached pics and would appreciate any suggestions on where I can purchase a replacement or a repair kit. Also, could someone outline the steps I need to take to replace? Do I need to cut the existing piping to remove the old valve? What is the right way to do this? Thank you for any help with this,

Have you tried searching?

To bump this up, I wonder if you've used the search tab above to key in words like thetford and sewer and black tank valve replace to find previous threads and messages. I know others have faced same problems...

Several interim suggestions..
1. Sometimes leak is caused by blockage in groove that valve plate slides into... A bent object like tine of fork can sometimes dislodge paper or material in the groove and cure leak..
2. Thetford still makes compatible parts for many of their fittings (one of reasons Airstream used them so long) you might try Airstream or thetford dealer to see what they can find available.. (Not all dealers will be as diligent in searching, so be persistent...)

There is a seal kit that you can buy to renew the seal in the valve. No cutting required. It will require removing the screws that hold the valve together and replacing the o-rings, etc. They sell a refurb kit for this valvle for less than 20 bucks. Need to order it from camping world, they normally don't stock it.
