Tank Layout

Help again, we have removed about a third of the floor in the rear that was rotten, and have to get new tanks as there were none in it, what is the correct or best placement layout. Does anyone have a blueprint or pix showing that stage of restoring. Guess it will be the 3 tanks, fresh, grey and black. We are going to go with the rear bathroom setup with twin beds, kitchen sink on curb side. What size and number of gallons do you suggest. We plan on living in it full time. What mfg. is best to get these from if they have to be special design, or do they?

Airstreams did not have a grey water tank in 1968. That started about 1973, we didn't have one our 72 either. I'm not sure but I would think that in 68 they at least had a blackwater tank.

I was so Airstream stupid I didn't even know where to look for our blackwater tank. turns out ours was ABOVE the floor directly under the toilet. Look there. Everyone was so patient here with me, bless them.

Freshwater tank is probably up front of the axles under the first 1/3 of the floor.

I don't know how to link it here but if you go to the Tradewind section of this forum and click on "Annettes Folley" you can see how we fitted a grey water tank into the back of our tradewind. Hope I've been some help.

On my 69 the freshwater tank is in the front under the gaucho above the floor and the black tank is in the back under the floor. On the 73 the freshwater tank is below the floor uner the kithen sink and the blackwater is above the floor under the toilet.

Thanks, I'll show him this when he gets home from work. I'm sure there were tanks but someone removed them, they had it hooked up to a fixed sewer line in the ground, so we are having to start from scratch so to speak. I was working on the windows and not really paying attention to what he was doing, until the thought he broke his wrist when the wood gave away. Guess everyone has moments where they question their sanity in starting a job like this......
