Spinning Soil Drain Pipe

Hey All,

I have a few questions about the soil drain pipe. When I attached the slinky (for the first time for me), the pipe can actually spin all the way around. Water came out of the pipe under the bumper when the pipe was pulled out a bit, so I shoved it back together & the leaking stopped. My questions are these:

How do you get at the pipe to look at what's going on? Do you have to remove the underbelly, or the bumper, or what?

Is there normally some kind of gasket that attaches to the metal where the pipe comes out? All that's left on the trailer is a circle around the pipe of rivets with nothing attached to it.

My trailer is a 1976 27 ft. Excella that really is set up like a International with the back bath. Any advice would be great.

you will need to open the belly to get a look at it.

it sounds like the rubber coupling that attaches the drain pipe is loose.

all you may need is a new hose clamp to fix it.

you were right. The rubber coupling was loose. My husband started to take the belly off & decided it was easier to attack it from the bumper. He removed it & then took the plastic liner out and the sewer pipe was right there--along with a huge rat's nest! He tightened the coupling & we tried the water again & it's perfect. Now we're going to put screens over all the drain holes & seal up the other gaps back there so no more creatures can enter! Thanks again,
