sewer smell

Sewer smell when returning to trailer. There is a water seal in toilet, tablets in black tank.

I’ve read other posts. Only clues are a) ceiling fans were left running, b) recent fresh water tank repair, c) first trip in two years, and d) black tank level monitor (only) went dark on third day.

I see mention of a vent under bathroom sink. Here’s a photo of what’s under ours (flimsy cap off for photo) - but it seems part of grey water system, not black, so not sure of its purpose.

Check your roof vent stack from your black tank. Sometimes leaves & debris collect there that block it which can force the sewer gases into your trailer. Good luck!

Not sure about your 23, but on our 30', the bathroom sink drains into the black tank. If your vent stack is not clogged, take a closer look at that sink vent in your photo.

Gray water can produce a worse smell than black tank if conditions are right.

The vent fan left on could be part of the problem, but I would take the first opportunity to thoroughly clean your black tank and see if that doesn’t help.

Chemicals in the tank don’t necessarily eliminate all odor, in my experience, especially if leavings in your black tank have dried and hardened over time.

Someone once suggested to me to dump some liquid Tide and a couple cups of Borax in there, and that did a pretty good job of cleaning things out.

I don’t have problems with my grey tank smelling, but always dump a little PineSol in there when I clean or a little bleach when I am using it for something else.
