Sewage drain cap

Hello. Last year, the cap that goes over the exit drain under my 1977 Argosy Minuet fell off. It was in bad shape, anyway, so I didn't worry much. This year, I wanted to replace it.

I ordered one from Amazon - with the garden hose fitting attached - and promptly discovered that it is too small. It's 3 inch, but it looks like it would need to be 3 1/4 to fit my trailer.

I've searched amazon, vintage trailer sites, Airstream sites, ebay, etc. and can't find what I need anywhere. I can't even find an adapter so I can use 3" fittings.

Does anybody out there have any solutions for this?

I have a 1977 Tradewind so yours is probably similar to mine. Here's what I needed:

An adaptor/transition from the Thetford size to the Valterra size. Then you can use the cap that you already have. Here's the link:

The sewer connection on the 77's are sized for Thetford caps and hoses but the "standard" size is Valterra. Using this adaptor will allow you to use standard accessories with your trailer.

Since learning this (I had to learn this the hard way while on the road) I just keep a spare adaptor in the camper. Will probably never need it, but for an extra $10 it is worth it for my peace of mind.
