No black tank in 62 Tradewind
Doing a fairly extensive rehab on a 62 TW. The toilet, which seemed to be original, sat on a ~6-inch high platform on the rear curbside corner. The waste dump valve sat directly beneath the toilet. I had assumed (ha!) that the platform contained a black tank sitting on top of the frame or the plywood floor. But it turns out that there's no tank there--just empty space with a drain pipe going down vertically from the toilet outflow to the waste valve.
I've torn the whole business out now, and I need to figure out a way to put a toilet in that space. As far as I can figure, my options are to put a black tank on the floor with a toilet on top, or to install a Thetford cassette toilet. The cassette route looks simpler, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of experience with it on the forums.
Alternatively, does anybody have experience with putting in a tank above the floor, like this? How did you arrange things so that the weight of the toilet and a person were not borne by the tank? Or can I find a tank that's strong enough?
Other advice? Help?
