New Black Tank: concave surfaces
I have only dealt with original '60s fiberglass tanks which hold their shape.
I am getting ready to soon install a new plastic cut corner black tank, custom-ordered from VTS.
What I have is a plastic tank with bottom and top faces that are both quite concave. I understand that when the tank is full, the weight of the contents will flatten out the curves, so to say, but how does this work to attach fittings (toilet flange, dump valve assembly, etc.)? These fittings will be leaning at an angle since they are not coming off of a nice, flat, true surface upon installation.
Like everything else I do Airstream-wise, I might be overthinking this. That said, even if I get the surfaces in proper alignment for installation of fittings, would there not then be a lot of pressure on the fittings as the tank top and bottom will want to go back to a concave set?
