minuet dump extension?

I'm helping my daughter out with her 1977 Minuet 6 metre. Her dump tube is so far under the trailer that you practically have to crawl under there to attach the slinky. She doesn't want to do that at a dump station (neither would I!). Has anyone with a Minuet put an extension on their tube? If so, where did you get it & what did you get? Thanks in advance (like I don't have enough projects of my own to do!)

minuet dump extension?

Greetings Becky!

I don't know that there is a good solution to the dump termination on the Minuet. Unless the trailer has a new axle with a much larger than stock down angle, any form of extension is going to be exposed to damage if it is left on the coach during travel. Even with a new axle, I have had to have my dump valve rebuilt twice following incidents where it was drug on the road while crossing a drainage channel at an intersection.

When towing my Minuet, I always carry a 4' x 4' rubber mat and heavy duty rubber gloves to use when dumping the Minuet's waste tanks. It isn't the best solution, but I have found that it works acceptably under most circumstances. I have also found that it becomes easier to connect the dump hose to the fitting the more one uses the coach.

Good luck with your project!

Kevin

If you stretch a string from the bottom of the tire back to the bottom of the bumper you should find the safe zone. It is very hard for anything to be damaged within that triangle. I would not let anything hang down below that.

Thanks for the advise. I'll pass it along to her. At least she's young & limber!
