Low flow on Blackwater rinse

I have always used the blackwater flush water connection to fill and flush my tank after a dump. On a recent trip after boondocking for 5 days, there was no flow at the dump station. I went on down the road and added a bag of ice to the tank to slosh around and clean it up, see if this helped the problem.. it did increase the flow from nothing to about 1/3 of what it used to do. What is the spray mechanism in a 2005 international? I did find a check valve behind the sink so maybe this is the culprit but it's a $45 part and in a very awkward spot. wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I searched the forums and cant find anything. thanks!!

J, there is some discussion re replacing the BW check valve and the challenges therein. Damage presumably from freeze damage. This part should never be plastic especially in it's location in the 20, presumeably the same in all models.

Try a search in the 20 footers thread. I'll look when i'm on a different device. I

Bob

Try half filling the black tank with clean water, add a big squirt of Dawn dish washing detergent and some Calgon water softener. Agitate by driving or just by rocking the trailer on the tongue jack.

You might also mix up a gallon of the above solution and shoot it down the tank cleaner inlet using a funnel or 2 liter soda bottle.

Let the solution sit over night, agitate again and immediately drain. Odds are the sprayer is clogged with t.p. or bio waste. Retry the tank cleaners and see if the flow goes back to normal.

J here is the post that I remember on the 20-footers thread by vandemusser. Not sure what his model is. Seems two others on the 20 footers (TCWheels, Camano20 and maybe OTRA15 have replaced theirs)

thanks! after uncovering more posts I believe the check valve vacuum breaker has failed. Like many suggested Im going to cut it out and just pipe it with pex. I,ll let ya know how that goes but I took the valve out yesterday and its restricting the flow. would have to be a hell of a toilet paper clog to close off 30 psi of water coming into the tank..
