Late model rear bath black tank construction

I don't have a problem or issue......I'm just curious about how my AS was constructed. It's a 2011 23fb which has the full bath across the back of the trailer. It appears that the black tank sits on the floor under the toilet and it extends under the kitchen sink running up the street side. Here is what I don't understand: the plywood subfloor stops at the edge of the tank and the tank seems to be up against the outside wall. Does anyone happen to know if the black tanks in these layouts sit on top off the outriggers or are there outriggers and is there a little strip of subfloor just under the shell behind the tank. It's the fact that the subfloor stops at the tank that has me curious. I tried to take a photo but it's a very tight and difficult access to view the tank. The manual shows fairly detailed plumbing diagrams for some models.....but of course not for the 23fb.

Well with Airstreams the subfloor is a structural part between the frame/outriggers and the shell. With knowing this it's hard to believe the subfloor ends at the edge of the tank.

Are you sure it's not just the flooring material that ends there?

That's exactly why I was curious about the situation. It's possible I'm just seeing the edge of the vinyl but it sure feels like the edge of plywood when I try to push my fingers down beside the tank. Perhaps I can get a thin piece of metal and see how far down I can slide it beside the tank.

I am following your thread with great interest as we are picking up our almost new 2012 Flying Cloud 23FB next week. Your pictures with the drawings are very informative.

Well......I slipped a business card down the edge of the black tank and it disappeared. I guess I've left a time capsule in the belly pan for a future owner to discover. I'd still like to know why the tank isn't sitting on the subfloor. I'll email AS the question. Not sure if I'll get an answer. The outriggers must be under the tank or there would be nothing to hold up the tank.

I realize this is an old thread, but I thought I would follow up. I did finally confirm with the factory that the black tank on the 23fb does in fact sit on the outriggers. The subfloor is removed under the tank. I didn't ask why, but I thought other 23 fb owners might be interested/ like to know. If the tank ever has to be replaced it will require significant interior demo for access.
