Is this what yours looks like? 71 31' Sov

Below is a photo of the waste dump connection. I've owned the a/s about 2 years and never had water hooked up nor used the waste system. I'm getting it water ready and don't have a sewer dump hose. I do have a 45 connector, but it wont go on because of the metal plate below the waste hook up pipe. In the photo, you can see the surface rust metal plate, the ground through a square hole cut in the plate, and the waste hook up pipe. The brown you see is West Texas sand/dust, not something gross.
What do I need here?

Looks like mine. I did notice the hoses that PO left for me don't connect. The fitting looks the same, twist to lock but I have several fitting and all are about 1/4" too small to fit my waste port. Did Airstream use an odd size fitting? I woudl think they're all standard.

RALEIGHAIR: Airstream used Thetford fittings. They are slightly different in diameter than the Valterra fittings. Thetford fittings are available in most big RV parts stores, but stock is usually limited to complete fittings. If you ever find a place that sells individual gaskets, buy all of them.

CHASRHAHM: I assume we're looking into your rear bumper locker. It seems you need a 90 degree Thetford fitting. I don't know how you get it connected with a hose attached, maybe the square is wide enough. Unfortunately, I've never seen a 90 degree Thetford fitting, only 45. You can, however, find 90 degree fittings for the sewer end of your dump hose.

The Thetford fittings us the standard 3" sewer hose.
