Has Our Water Tank Come Loose?

Hi,

Doing some work on the brakes of our 2016 Classic the other day I noticed an inspection plate on the bottom of the water tank pan (close to the tank and water system drains) that is supposed to be secured by four sheet metal screws, one in each corner of the plate. Three screws are there, the forth has popped out apparently due to pressure on the plate from above. I attempted to push the plate up and put in another screw but this wasn't happening, too much pressure.

Removing the plate I see a square black rubber like affair and then styrofoam tank insulation surrounding this. Something doesn't look right here. I want to remove the pan and see what's going on. Before I do this though was hoping to get some guidance on what to expect once I remove all the pan bolts. Has anyone one else dropped the pan on their Classic tank who could give me an idea what's involved or what the inspection plate is for? Will try to provide pictures. Pics upside down. Can't figure out how to correct.

Thank you in advance, Chris

That is the drain connection for the fresh water tank. There is really no way to make it smaller. The fitting is what’s holding the cover open. I just took it off and put a bend in it so the screw hold it tighter.

Thank you Bigventure. Are you saying there is another drain other than the one on the side of the pan (white petcock accessed from between the tires on the street side)? Maybe the drain covered by the inspection plate is something that's used during manufacture?

Correct there’s a vinyl hose that connects the white petcock to the drain outlet.
