Glued? Wrapped with tape? Hooking grey/balaclava valve outlets into t-fitting
I managed to rip off just the “tee” fitting that connects the black and grey outlets (after the shutoff valves). The third leg of the tee is the “twist lock” connection that mates with a sewer discharge hose (aka stinky slinky). Fortunately it looks like the two screws that held the L-shaped metal bracket onto the bottom of the airstream are the only “broken” pieces. It looks like the t fitting wasn’t actually glued, so it just popped out. One of the valve bodies (black I think?) did rotate a bit, allowing the t to separate.
I recovered the t fitting, flattened the L bracket and repainted the scuffed metal on the bottom of the bracket. Got some slightly larger sheet metal screws and I’m hoping I can just “persuade” the t fitting back into place.
I can’t imagine this will be a totally watertight fitting...though since it’s after the valves, a small amount of dripping probably isn’t the end of the world.
Anyway in hindsight it was probably wise (and no accident) that the fitting wasn’t glued as it allowed it to separate instead of snap.
As usual I am sort of just thinking out loud and wondering what I’m missing or not even thinking about. Your guidance is, as always, humbly appreciated.
