Hi all, I've tried without much luck so far to find a way to convert to a modern fitting. Our '55 has a straight 4" (I think) MPT nipple to screw the drain hose on. After one use, I decided this is NOT the way to go. Has anyone seen a 3" or 4" FMP to a modern Bayonet or whatever connection? I don't want to alter (if I don't have to) the drain fitting, I hope there is a screw on adapter? Am I just overlooking them? Also what are the recommended fittings regarding style?

I would reccomend that you find a PVC connector that will mate to the factory pipe, then add a small piece of PVC to it and a Standard bayonet fitting to the PVC. You could go with a Valterra or if you want to stay Airstream get a Thetford one. Then you have a cappable connection (DOT required) and can eaisly attach a hose.
Was yours a "park model"? It is very possible someone modified yours in past, as I thought all airstreams had a quick disconnect.
