tanks but no tanks
The use of a grey tank came into A/S use with '73 models.
Sorry to say , just a black tank.

...and if so, it isn't documented in the owner's or service manual for 1973 models.
but it is in 74 and up.

I read somewhere (?) that grey water tanks were an option on a few larger models in 73. They became standard equiptment on the 74's.

Tote Tank
Jim:
A tote tank is a pretty easy solution to the no gray tank problem. We use ours often, but never for the black water. Just be careful when you are towing it to the dump. They come with plastic wheels that don't like long trips. However, sometimes the dump is a long way from your campsite. My plastic wheels melted down on a long haul. They were a pain to find replacements for. Good luck.

yep, that gets repeated over and over. (and it just got repeated again )
might be true, but I haven't come across one yet. and like I said, there is no mention of it in the 1973 OM or SM, which cover all models.

Another thing I never see mentioned either. These very early gray tanks are very small. Somewhere around 8 - 10 gallons. Better than nothing sure, but hardly enough to take a shower or do dishes with.

I was answering your question about the black tank size since the '71's don't have grey tank.
The black tank is 12 gallons. Shower water and sink water does not go in there. It bypasses the tank and comes out directly through the sewer drain.
