Diagram or photos of Tanks? 74 Sovereign
I just purchsed a 74 sovereign 31' and the black tank and gray tank, was taken out by the previous owner. I'am doing to full restoration involving new flooring. Problem is i have no idea what the gray and black tanks looked like or how they were plumbed. Does anyone have photos of them installed? diagrams ect.?

Welcome to the forums. Is your trailer a center bath or rear bath? They are significantly different.

Also are you SURE it had a gray tank? 1974 was a split year for the gray tanks, some of them had them and some did not. What is your build date? It should be on the small silver tag on the front left corner.

The tag says build date 6/73 wierd its titled a 74. Your right i dont know what it had before. The previous owner had taken it all out even the underbelly skin is missing. It was hard plumed into a sewer. It had been parked for the better part of 20 years. I just got finished ripping up all the flooring. It is suffering from rear sag and outrigger are falling off.

In many states they used the date of the sale as the title date. You had a black only and it went in a box under the rear end, that lead to a pipe that came out the left side of the bumper. The gray was plumbed straight to the pipe. I had a 1975 that was rear bath. I will have to see if I can find you some pictures.

Oh that would be great!. The only thing it has left is the sewer hook up on the bumper frame. But thats it. But like i said if only i knew what it looked like i could order one. And how it was mounted. At the moment with the floor up its just a empty hole with no belly pan either.im having a welder come friday to start on it. Also to mend the newly found broken frame near the axles. Ill see if i can post pics..

I found out it did have a gray tank. It has a meter on the control center and is was wired for it. Just dont have any photos of them installed or what they looked liked or how they are plumbed.

In our '74 rear bath Trade Wind, the OEM black tank is a rectangular thing made of steel and it's positioned on the plywood floor with the toilet mounted directly onto it. The gray tank is underneath the floor, and plumbing (vent and bath sink on curb side, kitchen sink on street side) runs into the gray tank from both sides.
IIRC the black tank is about 18 gallons capacity. I can re-measure the dimensions if you are interested.

Take a look at vintage trailer supply, they have these exact tanks. I bought one for my 72 Overlander and it was a duplicate, only better.
