Convert or Replace Thetford Waste Valves

I'm having consistent problems with my 94/34 Classic Limited waste valves. The black valve will not close tight. Have cleaned it a couple times with temporary success. Need advice on replacing or converting them. Also, Would like to premanently convert the outside waste connector to accept Valtera. Any suggestions on that? DH.

I just made the conversion. A reciprocating saw was almost impossible to use because of the clearance between the tank valve handles. Same story for a hacksaw. I ended up just using the blade by itself. Cut slow and as straight as you can. The Valtera end fitting only had about 5/8 inch for the glue joint. Use plenty of PVC cleaner and one of the PVC glues suitable for wet conditions and you should do fine. I use a Sewer Solution hookup and after the conversion, it fits so much better without having to use a Thetford to Valteria adapter. The added benefit is that I can now buy my stinky slinky connection parts at Walley World :-)

thanks for the tips. I pulled the Thetford valves out and cleaned them again and replaced all the seals. I'll give the replacement a try as soon as the weather breaks.
See you down the road. DH.
