Black water tank questions

Hi, we've never used our '64 Globetrotter other than in our own driveway, and have never used the black water tank. We need the hose that connects to the tank to drain, any thoughts about where to get one would be a huge help.

Thanks

Peter

Do you have the lock on connector? The original was a Thetford, something do don`t just buy at your local RV shop.I found mine on Ebay.Maybe someone will post where you can buy,if not cut off the original and add 1 of the modern connectors. Not sure of the name of the new style. Dave

New Airstreams use the more common Valterra fittings. You can find the ones you need at VTS.

Camping World has what you need. You most likely have a Thetford connector from your tank, But Valterra has an adapter to the hose. Check with me and several others when you are at Casini Rally this week. I have the hookup that you are looking for. In fact if you need to use my hose ...ask. I now use the Sewer Solution setup but carry the 'slinky' with me....just in case.
Neil.

Thanks Neil. I was thinking that we wouldn't use the plumbing at all at Casini- it's not quite sorted out. I look forward to seeing other's trailers and how it all works

I actually bought a hose and connections from an RV place in Petaluma, and the pieces looked exactly like the old Thetford pieces I have that fit my tank... except for a couple of little bits, which made it impossible to mate to the dump valve. Sigh. We'll get it sorted out, sounds like a trip to Camping World, online. There was someone at Casini with a '64 like ours, that his parents had had. He had some of the original connections for connecting to the black tank, cast aluminum fittings (!) which were amazing, but apparently mine has been retrofitted and his stuff didn't fit. We'll get this sorted out too. Thanks

ok, now I read Easyride's post again, and I get it, you don't just buy stuff that mates to the old stuff anywhere. It's amazing, the tiny difference that made it not work. Going to tackle the tank/toilet and valve stuff- a leak has caused the floor under the toilet to fail and here we go again
