Black Tank Clog

If you pull your Black Tank Valve and nothing comes out it could be clogged. We stayed at a RV park that used a "Honey Wagon". The sucked the liquid out but did not rinse out the solids resulting in a clog. I ordered the Flush King by Valtera on Amazon and it forces water up from the sewer hose connection to clear the clog. Flush King is my new best friend. You are welcome.

I also have a Flush King but after purchasing I looked at several videos showing why it does not work in most cases. I hope you are saying that it does work because I don't like the idea of wasting money. I have not used mine.

It's really only effective with "straight shot" plumbing to the black tank. Many ASes have a 90* bend between the opening and the tank. This really stops the spray jet. On my old SOB, it worked great. About a 9" straight shot from opening to black tank. It's not even worth hooking up on the AS.

You must get the Flush King with the Valve that you can close and force water up into the black tank. The product without the valve will only rinse your hose out. I will try to post a photo.

Yup, that's the one I used, for years. It now just sits in the basement. Not effective on 90* turns.

Someone here posted that when they were in that sticky situation, they filled the drain hose above the tank level. Which in effect back flushed the blockage and got things flowing.

That seemed a clever solution using just what was at hand.

Cheers Richard

That's what I do now, as a matter of routine....not when a plug occurs. BTW, now that I don't have kids who use too much TP, I haven't had a clog in years.
