Add additional grey tank

Anyone know of a thread that shows adding additional grey tank to a Trade Wind? I'm curious as to how they routed the plumbing or any other mods to it.

Ed, I am thinking the same as you, adding a grey tank. Did you get any ideas from people?

Thanks, John H

I added a tank to my '68 Tradewind.

The solution I came up with was to junction the sinks/shower drain at the rear of the trailer and splice that to a length of flexible (2 inch?) hose. That hose was threaded through the main long section of the frame and from there to the new tank. The drain out of the tank is via hard PVC at the rear of the tank and to the rear of the camper where it is tied into a common final drain with the black water system.

Rodney,

That's an interesting idea you have. Re-route the 1 1/2" pipes to the new tank. Replace the existing tank and connect it to the new tank with a 3" pipe connector, to both the new tank and the existing drain-out system. I could do all that from the bottom side and the sequence will give me access to all the pipes.

Nice idea to consider. Thanks. John H

We actually have two grey tanks (plus a black) in our '56 Safari. They are tied together and drain through one valve. Our set-up is probably different than yours though because we started off with NO TANKS so we could design ours from scratch. For more details, check out my "It's a Girl!!!" thread...post #261 shows them in place before the floor went down.
