360 Siphon Roof Vent?
I found this advertised on the RVtravel.com website. I have experienced the black tank sewer vent cover causing a positive pressure in the black tank when underway. It caused the air admittance valve under the sink to leak and put sewer gas into the trailer (spelled stench).
The "360 Siphon Roof Vent" vendor claims this cover does not pressurize the tank in the wind. It also appears to have a screen which the original vents do not.
Anyone tried one of these?

They are the BEST! I use them on any solar installation where I need a lower profile vent cover, which is often. They actually work as advertised.
You will be in good company, as Newell and Provost (both million dollar motor home builders) use them. You will also find the on all newer Airstream Interstates.

Thanks Lew - 'nuf said coming from you.
One additional question, do you know if the mounting holes match the cheaper cover that is there now. I hate to think about making more holes in the roof than are already there.

if the mounting holes don't match, might be eaiser to drill new ones in the plastic than the roof....

I installed them on both vents, the holes will not match up. But they will be covered. Just get some sheet metal screws and you'll be fine.
They work, especially when it comes to odor inside the Airstream when flushing. We have NONE.

The kit includes a proper amount of butyl tape that you apply to the bottom of the vent base. This does a hood job of covering the old holes.
The old vents use 6 holes while the 360 vents use 5. You will need to run a bead of SikaFlex ( or the sealant of your choice) around the bass and over the screws.

They're also lower profile. They look better in appearance, where the old ones looked like PVC pipe sticking out of your Airstream, these I barely notice.

They are really low profile as you and Lew pointed out. Thanks for the photos. Nice solar set up by the way!
